On March 18th, Season 4 of Invincible came out and was a success, earning a 100% critic score. With new fan-favorite characters and a redemption arc for Omni-Man, Season 4 focuses on a galactic war against the Viltrumites, who are angry about Omni-Man’s betrayal of their empire. After the Viltrumites strike first, the Coalition of Planets joins together to fight them. This leads to a war in which another character, Thaedus, pushes Omni-Man and Mark to fight against the Viltrumites and their leader, Thragg. Eventually, the Viltrumites’ numbers are reduced, and Space Racer, one of the Coalition’s main soldiers, blasts a laser through the planet Viltrum. Mark, Omni-Man, and Thaedus then fly through the planet with the laser, destroying Viltrum. Unfortunately, Thaedus meets his end and dies at the hands of Thragg, who then nearly kills Mark, Omni-Man, and Oliver.

After the traumatized Mark returns to Earth, he encounters Thragg again and is forced into a deal, leaving him with no choice but to comply.

Another reason this is a good season is that it goes more in depth with Omni-Man’s character. The season shows his brutal upbringing, what Planet Viltrum was like when he was younger, and the reason there are fewer than 40 Viltrumites left in the universe. It also introduces new characters to the story arc, leaving some viewers, including myself, quite satisfied. However, others were disappointed with the animation, saying it was lazy and clunky, which I disagree with. Sure, it could have used better lighting, but it was not as bad as people make it out to be.

Many people have high hopes for Season 5 and what it could bring. After all, we are only halfway through the story of Invincible. The Mark variants from Season 3 are also supposed to return in Season 5.

Now, to answer the question, “Is It As Good As People Say It Is?” In my opinion, yes. Yes, it was.
