Kawasaki has recently hinted at the return of a full size 2-stroke motorcycle on their social media pages.
Kawasaki’s new youtube video stating “WE HEARD YOU” after thousands of requests for the return of a Kawasaki 2 stroke.

Since 2007 Kawasaki has discontinued manufacturing of full size 2 stroke dirt bikes, and it has sparked rage upon the moto community.
What is a “2 stroke bike” or “how does it differ from a more traditional 4 stroke?’

Why did Kawasaki discontinue 2 strokes in the first place?
Kawasaki had discontinued 2 strokes due to how much they pollute compared to 4 strokes. 2 Strokes release a significantly more amount of smoke out of the exhaust than 4 stroke engines; this is due to the mix of oil and gasoline.
4 Strokes overcome 2 strokes
Around this time (2007), dirt bike brands had begun to discover more advanced technology, specifically for 4 strokes, and they had been the new hot topic. This had also led to Honda discontinuing the production of 2 strokes since 4 stroke engines had become more advanced with reliability, power, maintenance costs, overall price, and had a huge variety of aftermarket parts to upgrade the performance, meaning the 2-stroke is old news.

Why do people want the 2-stroke back so bad?
The Moto community has been begging for years and years for Kawasaki to bring back full size 2-Strokes due to how much they’re just loved. And due to high demand, Kawasaki has officially announced the release of a new 2 stroke dirt bike to be released in mid to late 2025. 2-Stroke dirt bikes have a distinct high pitch buzzing noise similar to that of a beehive, which Moto racers absolutely love and crave.
What do you think the new Kawasaki will look like? Will it be a 250, 125, 150, 300?
