Should schools be showcasing students' artwork? The answer is yes! But why?
Art can be literally anything. You can paint, draw, sculpt, write and more. Art is a way to show who you are through your creativity. You don’t have to be skilled in it, rather you should have the motivation to do it because art is a wondrous thing. Making up something in your mind and putting it onto a piece of paper is magical.
I’ve been making art since I was in kindergarten and I’m now a junior in high school. Let’s just say I’ve gotten a whole lot better since then and I’m proud of my work. So proud I want to share it with others so they can be proud back.
When people like what you’ve created it feels so good. It's a confidence boost that makes you inspired to create more. Being recognized for my work and especially being asked to create something for someone is the best feeling I could possibly get.
I believe that schools should start showcasing their students' artwork for people to see to give them the confidence they need and deserve.

A teacher from a school in Phoenix says, “as a teacher, I see students are more motivated and take more pride in their work if they know it will be showcased.”
This is so true because when I know someone will be seeing my work beforehand I want to make sure it is perfect for their eyes. That motivation to get you going is so vital when working on an art piece.
Unfortunately not every teacher does this. They don’t put up our work to be seen by others instead they stack it in a pile to catch dust. You begin to feel that your work is unimportant and that’s not good.
I’ve been wanting to ask students here at MHS if they would be willing to send me pictures of their artwork and if they’d like me to interview them about their background life and why they got into making art. All for it to be featured in our school newsletter.
I know this school has many talented students and I believe that they should have the chance to show off their talents to the rest of the school to see. These students deserve to feel proud and prideful of what they’ve accomplished.
MHS is all about sports but what about the kids who do something other than sports. Why don't they have the chance to be seen by the school unlike all the other athletes?
That’s why I’m doing this. Let's give the artists of MHS the ability to feel important and seen!
