Grim Salvo is a duo that includes Patrick Jobe aka (SLEUTH), and Spencer Linn aka (MOSSBACK). They come from Portland Oregon where they work together to make their music as unique as possible. With experimental sounds and innovative artistry they have made some really great songs, like Waste in shade, Grey Link, Walt Disney Wormdog, and Ergot which was actually the first song I've ever heard from them.
They started out music with performances within high school then it carried them over to experimenting with whatever came to them. They grew up with individuals who were known to recognize artists like Radiohead and The Flaming Lips. “They both collected vinyl which made an influence with their style. Instrumental complexity and raw emotional depth found in these classic records have become threads woven intricately into their own musical fabric.” They took experimenting with sounds into a well known hobby of theirs.
Their first recordings were humble demos in which they honored their craft by producing tracks for other artists. Their music quickly gained lots of attention, getting them included in festivals and showcases.
Grim Salvo’s album Mildred that released in November 2022 made their sound in music much more noticeable by new and old fans. It eventually gave them access to more tours, collabs, and higher-profile performances.
Their music is a reflection on personal experiences and challenges they have faced in life. They often talk about friendship, growth, and struggles about leaving their comfort zones. Both highs and lows of their personal lives, Grim Salvo has cultivated a style that resonates on multiple levels, allowing listeners to connect with an emotional narrative embedded with their music.
How they came up with the name they use is just made up by them.
Grim Salvo is an amazing music group to be honest and they make some really great songs. With the music they have made so far makes it really cool and curious what other songs they’ll create later on. They're a really cool music group and I think everyone should get a chance to listen to them if they haven’t.
