20 years later, Michael Myers returns for payback on Laurie Strode. Steve Miner, American director and film producer, carries the storyline. Steve Miner has made other popular, halloween movies like Friday the 13th: Part 2 and Part 3 (1981, 1982). Box offices rose to $50 million domestically and $75 million globally.
Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), but presumably Keri Tate, to hide her identity, moves to Northern California with her son, John Tate (Josh Hartnett). She is the principal of a private school and little does she know that Michael Myers is on a hunt. She is terrorized, once again, along with her son and his friends. She expects it, seeing visions of him, and seeing him in reflections.

The mysterious madman first hunts down his nurse from the 1978 Halloween, where she stays at the home of Michael’s ex doctor, Dr. Loomis. This is where it all begins. It includes his office and scattered papers, tracking victims’ deaths on newspaper articles and drawings. After killing his nurse, he finds Laurie’s new location. Like the first Halloween, he quietly stalks lurking on victims to get to Laurie Strode.

Michael’s mask is changed. The director was dissatisfied with the original mask and wanted something better. During the first screening, it was said that someone in the crowd stood up and yelled out, “That is not Michael Myers’ mask.” After this unanticipated moment, the studio and director quickly changed it using three masks and later on, CGI after an accident with the mask.
This is one of my favorite Halloween movies besides Halloween and Halloween II. Josh Hartnett, an American actor has starred in popular movies such as The Faculty (98), Pearl Harbor (01), and recently, Trap (24). I loved his performance, obviously because he is very handsome, but not only this, he is very mature and shows true fright. Josh Hartnett was nominated for the Best Breakthrough Performance at the MTV Movie Awards. What excited me the most was the secretary in this film is actually Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee Curtis’ mother, who is the main protagonist in Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock. Every character played their role well and was fearful toward the mental escape patient, Michael Myers. The end of the movie contains a suspenseful scene that puts you at the edge of your seat. It is very dramatic.
Overall, I give this movie a 4 out of 5. It does contain some comedy which takes away the point of horror. I do enjoy every bit of this movie and Michael’s struggle to achieve killing Laurie. I recommend this to those that love Michael Myers and have been on the journey of over 40 years
