Hannibal the Cannibal: 'guys, he literally ate'

Written by Erin Costner

Edited by Jesse Koppel

Hannibal is an early 2000’s horror movie with the two main characters, Hannibal Lecter ( Anthony Hopkins) and Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore).

This story mainly follows Clarice Starling and her mission to capture Hannibal Lecter, a well known cannibal who has killed and eaten several people. Because of this movie's gore it is rated R.

The beginning of the movie isn't very memorable, but towards the end it really gets good.

In the beginning of the movie Hannibal's case opens up again after a few years because of some new evidence they find. They get the new evidence from a billionaire named Mason Verger (Gary Oldman) who is kind of obsessed with Hannibal, collecting things from his old crime scenes.

After they get this new evidence there are many sources around the country to find Hannibal but there is no luck, until Clarice gets a letter from Hannibal. They trace the letter to Italy. Once they track him down there's a interference from a cop in Italy who is trying to capture Hannibal himself for a three million dollar reward. (Spoiler Warning) the Italian cops eventually gets killed and Hannibal goes back to America.

Hannibal sneaks into Clarice’s house, looks through everything and leaves. The next day Clarice tries to find Hannibal at a mall but Hannibal gets kidnapped by Mason. Later, Hannibal is about to be killed but Clarice tries to “save” him but Hannibal ends up escaping and brings Clarice with him.

When Clarice wakes up, she sneaks out of her room and calls the police, but right before they show up Hannibal escapes once again.

It's a good movie if you watch horror movies on the regular and aren't scared of too much gore.

If you are used to a lot of horror movies like I am, you probably won't get that scared. For normal people, this movie might creep you out a lot, this movie is very gory.

I would give this movie… 6/10 stars, there were many gory scenes and the ending felt kind of rushed. The first movie was better.

The first movie was better in multiple ways, from the lines like “A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.”, and the story line was better.
