The iconic Star Wars villain, Darth Maul will have an upcoming spinoff series. After fleeing the Galactic Republic in the last season of the ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ Maul would start to rebuild his crime syndicate on an unknown planet under the empire's nose.
The series' events will be set after the Clone Wars and before the show ‘Star Wars Rebels' where he is also portrayed in, with Sam Witwer returning to voice Maul.

The series, titled ‘Star wars: Maul Show Lord’, is still in production by Lucasfilm and will be set to be released in 2026 exclusively on Disney+, but there has been leaks of the early trailer featuring Maul with a new apprentice, as well as the Mandalorian warrior, Rook Kast from his old criminal alliance called the Shadow Collective.
Also featured in the trailer is inquisitor Marrok who is also featured in the ‘Ahsoka Series’, and could possibly pose a threat to Maul plot at rebuilding his crime syndicate considering Marrok’s connection with the Empire. The series will also feature a returning character from the movie ‘Solo’, Qi’ra who is the public leader of the Crimson Dawn, with Maul being the true, but hidden leader of the Crimson Dawn.
“The animation style was something Dave Filoni described to me that it will recognizably be in that Clone Wars world, but a little bit more extreme because its things from Darth Maul’s perspective it's a little bit more edgy and jagged and dangerous,” Sam Witwer told a reporter in an interview.
Many are excited to see Sam Witwer return, a actor who has been the voice actor for Maul for around 14 years in the ‘Lego Star Wars’ series and the very popular ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ as well as in ‘rebels. Now he’ll be coming back to voice Maul in the upcoming series.
