Invincible Season 4: Will this be the show's redemption?

Written by T Canchola

On October 13, 2025, the official Invincible YouTube channel released their traditional season teaser trailer, which many fans have taken as a promise for a redemptive season in terms of animation, plot, and character development.

If you don’t know about the tradition, it’s an animated short that introduces the release date for each new season, featuring Mark and a surprise guest character. For season two, it was the alien Allen, season three was the stuck-up Cecil Stedman, and finally, for season four, Atom Eve has made her appearance.

The teaser trailers are mostly satirical and humorous, typically using inside jokes and references to appeal to returning fans, such as the diner named Burger Mart (which Mark worked at once upon a time), that all three trailers have been held in. However, they animate it according to the plot itself, and as such, the teaser shows the diner in ruins during Mark and Eve’s conversation.

Alongside the running jokes about diners and show production, there’s a multitude of easter eggs that showcase events from the previous season, like Mark wearing Robot’s shell as casts on his injured limbs, and Mark praising himself for “kicking Conquest’s ass.” We all know he didn’t. At least Eve is always there to knock him off his high horse.

Even better, we get a split-second sneak peek at a character that’s yet to make an appearance, who is none other than Thragg. Thragg, for those who don’t know, is one of the main antagonists of the original comic series. Given that Thragg has a reputation for being senselessly brutal, it should make for an intense and memorable season. The confirmed voice actor for this new villain is none other than Lee Pace, famous for starring in The Hobbit trilogy.

Fans are expecting this to be the comeback we’ve all been waiting for since season two. Since the release of that season, the animation quality has dropped significantly due to budget cuts, time constraints, and hardcore fanboys find it hard to accept that animators are actually human and need time to create good material.

As a result of that, season two had to find sneaky ways to reduce the production time (hiding hands, mouths, and cheaply tweened flight animation). In season three, that trend continued until the finale, where pretty much all the budget went into the Conquest fight scene. However, the trailer has very smooth animation and good humor, which has raised all our hopes.

All in all, the trailer has sparked hope for the future of the show. The official release window for season 4 is March of 2026, barely a year after season 3 made its debut. That's plenty of time for a rewatch! It will be available to watch on Amazon Prime, so be sure to keep an eye out for more updates and the premiere episode!
