Doom the Dark Ages is releasing on May 15th for a majority of the world and with this new entry brings a whole new power fantasy. And some of the fan base was a little saddened by the slowing down of the slayer but the developers reassured that this game has the potential to be even faster than its predecessor (Doom Eternal).

This entry in the series takes place a long ways back in the timeline. Taking place right after the doom slayer's time in the divinity machine and getting his immense power. Being used as a pawn in a medieval war against hell.
“It's pretty fun” was a quote from Carmine Medeiros.
Like I said the developers have slowed the game down a bit. In doom 2016 you were running and gunning around arenas. In doom eternal you were like a fighter jet flying and shooting around arenas but in doom the dark ages you will be an iron tank to stand and fight.
With this new installment the developers have added two new game play additions that have almost whole levels dedicated to them. The atlan mech and the doom slayer’s dragon.

The atlan mech is an enormous mech that is several stories tall and is able to take on titan demons with whole levels and bosses dedicated to the mech. The mech is mostly based on melee combat but has access to a mini gun and shotgun during certain sections. And the first time in a doom game where the slayer doesn't have the mini gun all the time only during atlan sections.

The Doom Dragon (the community made name) also known as Serrat is a dragon that the doom slayer saved and with that the dragon became loyal to him and him only with cybernetic augmentations that allowed it to fly once more with more armor and accompanying mini guns.
In the levels where Serrat is present doom slayer uses him for aerial combat to fight hell ships and can even take down titans as well.
To wrap this all up i have played the game and if you want to know if you should buy it the answer is yes.
