The New Show
The craze for Dexter Morgan has persisted throughout the years. Created in 2008, it was an 8 season long show winning 2 Emmy’s and with 2 current spin-offs, and it managed to stay afloat in the streaming industry of today's world. Now there’s another newly announced Dexter spin-off which could be another amazing spin-off.

It’s going to be called “Dexter: Resurrection” and will have Micheal C Hall reprising his role as the infamous Dexter Morgan, and is said to be running for multiple seasons and will continue from Dexter: New Blood, the show that had fans originally wondering if he was dead or not. But before we go into what we know so far about the new spin-off, how about a quick recap?

Dexter Morgan
Dexter Morgan, played by Micheal Hall, is the beloved psychopath without any emotion who stars in Dexter, along with its spin-offs. Dexter is an emotionless killer. He doesn’t know why, but he’s always just had.. a feeling to kill.
Having an understanding father, he was taught how to blend in with society's normal people whilst being a murderer, crafting him into the best murderer in the shadows. During the day he was Miami's best blood spatter analysis, and at night, a murderer who kills for justice.
So the basic premise of the original Dexter series was Dexter was managing both catching criminals with his detective job and catching criminals to feed his hunger to kill. It was nail biting at times, it was funny, it was bloody. It had romance, and it had the bromance.
The ending to Dexter left disappointed with how it ended, so they decided to release spin-offs of the show to further fuel the popularity for the show.
Spin-offs
So far, there’s currently 2 spin-off series of Dexter that have been released. Their first one that was released, Dexter: New Blood (2021) took us back into the shoes of Dexter after the original show; his grown up son, Harrison, shows up at his house, now much older, and it’s revealed that he too has the urge to kill, so they recraft the father-son bond inside of them by pairing up and killing people. This show was what most people thought was the end of Dexter, since he is shown being shot at the end.

The other spin-off, Dexter: Original Sin (2024-), was released just back in December. It covers a young Dexter Morgan, played by Patrick Gibson, is guided by his father Harry Morgan, he gets a forensics internship with Miami Metro Police Department, while managing the dark passenger inside him.

Dexter: Resurrection
With the release of Dexter: Original Sin, it was safe to assume that there wouldn’t be more. Wrong. On January 17th, Michael C. Hall confirmed that he was on set and filming the new show Dexter: Resurrection. “Hey, what’s up? It’s Michael C. Hall. I am on the set for the first official day of production for Dexter: Resurrection,” He exclaimed in an instagram post.
So here’s what we know so far about Dexter Resurrection. It will follow Dexter directly after the events of Dexter: New Blood, when he is shot and taken to the hospital, and is going to be set in New York City, and will include beloved returning characters such as Angel Batista (David Zayas), Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott), and Harry Morgan (James Remar) returning to the new show.

With filming already in progress, the show is said to be released on Showtime and Paramount+ June of this year, so thankfully the wait won’t be too long before we can delve into yet another Dexter show. For now all we can do is wait and enjoy the other new series, Dexter: Original Sin, until the anticipated release of Dexter: Resurrection comes.
