Trump was just elected to be the 47th president of the United States. Along with his inauguration, he signed as many as 26 executive orders on his first day, and this article discusses and simplifies what orders are being carried out as of today.

These orders have much significance on the society we live in today, as it determines the laws of the country. Each order is filtered into a category, like Immigration, Energy and Environment, Governmental Changes, Crime, and Economy.

What were some of the orders that Trump signed?

As well as signing some executive orders declaring some national emergencies, there were also some others that could benefit the country. Three of these orders will be discussed in the article.

Executive order #1: "Unleashing Alaska's Extraordinary Resource Potential”

This act discusses how Alaska has an apparent “abundant and largely untapped supply of natural resources including, among others, energy, mineral, timber, and seafood” that could heavily benefit the U.S. There is also something about using these resources to “create a price relief for Americans and balance economic wealth. (NPR Staff, 2025)

There’s also the hope of taking the resources for the benefit of the people in Alaska.

Executive order #2: "Reevaluating And Realigning United States Foreign Aid”

This (EO) puts a halt on all Foreign Aid/Assistance sent out by the U.S. Government for a 90 day period of time effective immediately. This time period gives the new administration time to evaluate and investigate current aid programs. Also the administration will determine whether they will cease the aid, modify it, or just cease it all together. (NPR Staff, 2025)

Executive order #3: "Wasteful Government DEI Programs And Preferencing”

This (EO) has the Director of the Office Management and Budget and other Agencies to terminate equity and inclusion programs and diversity in the Federal Government. The Agencies must take action within 60 days. These agencies must report all “environmental justice” positions as well as related budgets, programs, activities, committees, and services, to the OMB director. (NPR Staff, 2025)

These executive orders have mixed emotions among many. Many see these as controversial and useless, whilst as others think highly of the new administration's efforts.
